BBC Strictly's Molly Rainford posts statement after another dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing's Molly Rainford said the dance-off against Ellie Simmonds was "very tough".

Following the live show on Saturday, Molly found herself in the dreaded dance-off against the five-time Paralympic gold medallist and broadcaster. Molly and her partner Carlos Gu again performed their foxtrot to You Make Me Happy by My Sun and My Stars, which saw them land 35 points during the live show.

Shirley Ballas described it as the "epitome of style and sophistication" but it wasn't enough to secure their place in next week's show. After both couples had danced for a second time, it was a unanimous decision by the judges to save Molly, sending Ellie home.

This was Molly's second time in the dance-off following her routine to the Grange Hill theme tune. Following Sunday's dance-off, Molly tweeted: "That was a very tough dance off. I loved this dance, the song and performing with Carlos every week is such an honour. Everything about that foxtrot showed our lovely friendship.

"Thank you to everyone who did vote for us, we couldn’t be more grateful and thank you to the judges for allowing us to dance for another week."

Molly continued: "I think the dance off is even harder because we’ve all become amazing friends on this @bbcstrictly journey. I’ve truly made a friend for life in the beautiful @elliesimmonds we just clicked from day one."

The remaining nine couples will take to the dancefloor next when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.55pm, with the results show on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
