BBC Strictly's Kaye Adams apologises to her kids ahead of 'thrusting hips' on BBC show

Scots TV and radio presenter Kaye Adams has apologised to her children after being added to the Strictly Come Dancing line-up. In a video posted on Twitter, the Grangemouth-born Loose Women host says that 'no children should be subjected to sight of their mother thrusting their hips'.

Kaye, 59, will join the likes of Coronation Street stars Kym Marsh and Will Mellor after being confirmed as the fourth person to join the award winning BBC One dance show, which starts this autumn.

The short video starts with standing in her dressing room, she said: "I have had such fun this morning at Loose Women, of my goodness. What a bubbling cauldron of gossip it's been. It's you, it's you, it's you, it's you. Um so actually it's now, what time is it? It's about half 11.

"Um so it's not, nobody really knows... but they will soon", as she laughed away to her self. She went on: "So yeah, it's true. What have I done? I mean this is so not me. This is so not me. I mean outside my comfort zone doesn't even begin to describe it.

"But do you now what sometimes you've got to take a leap. And I am... leaping. Can I also just apologise to my children. I mean no teenager should be subjected to the sight of their mother thrusting their hips, so girls, I will try and keep it to a bare minimum. Promise!"

TV presenter and radio star Kaye is yet to find out who she will pair up with, with the contestants set to discover their pro partner next month.

Kaye said: “I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties memorable and i can’t think of a better way of doing it than showing the world my two left feet. Pray for me!”

Kaye, who lives in Glasgow, is a broadcaster best known as an anchor on the ITV topical discussion show, as well as for hosting the morning show on BBC Radio Scotland. Having started her career as a news journalist she has presented programming for various TV channels including STV, the BBC and Channel 5. She also started her popular podcast, How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams, in 2022.
