The changes to the Strictly Come Dancing schedule during the World Cup have caused upset among fans. This weekend the much-loved dance show was shifted to Friday night for the live quarter-final and Saturday night for the results instead of its regular Saturday and Sunday slots.
Then viewers expressed their annoyance at the end of the results show as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced that the semi-final of the BBC dance show will be screened on Sunday with the results on Monday. As fans vented about the news, former Gogglebox star the Rev Kate Bottley made a different observation.
She tweeted on Saturday night: "Just had a lovely thought that the remaining @bbcstrictly celebrities, @ClaudiaWinkle @TessDaly, crew and @SCDband might actually be having a Saturday night off and be sat at home on their own sofas."

And the Strictly Come Dancing Band, the show's house band led by Dave Arch, replied: "We are rev. It’s a bit odd but nice. All family round and there’s talk of setting the tree up hope you’re well x"
Singer Tommy Blaize also confirmed her hopes. "Oh yes Kate, I am on the sofa enjoying the footy. Feels odd though," he said. And @gsjuptonpark68 told her: "Saw a few of the dancers out and about in Soho, London last night, so not sat at home but enjoying themselves."
Some followers thought Kate might just have lifted the lid on a long-held 'pretence' that the results show is also live. Fans are aware that the results show is filmed after the live show on Saturday evening following a break so audiences at home can vote.
Hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly and the judges come back into the studio wearing fresh outfits and there's talk of 'last night's performances.' Tess introduced Saturday night's pre-recorded results show by saying: "On Friday night our six quarter finalists left everything on the dancefloor in the hope of keeping theit Strictly dreams alive."
The studio audience is asked to keep the secret. However, fans have blasted the leaking of the public vote before the result is revealed and they have called for the results show to be scrapped with a dance-off straight after the main show on Saturday.
@JanieL24 asked Kate with a winking face: "Obviously that's after they get home from tonight's results show, right?!" And @ClivePoole joked: "Is the results show not live then?!"
@87missred also quipped: "But Kate, don't you know the result show was filmed live on Saturday night?" And @drummingman2 said with a zany-face emoji: "That's not true. They've been doing the results show Rev."
Last night (Saturday December 3) Kym Marsh and her dance partner Graziano Di Prima became the 10th couple to be voted off the show. The remaining five couples will take to the dancefloor for the semi final when Strictly Come Dancing will air live on Sunday December 10 at 7.15pm, with the results show on Monday December 11 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
