Life on Mars actor Philip Glenister has spoken about the ‘unimaginable’ pain the families of the victims of the triple murders behind new true crime BBC drama Steeltown Murders went through - and how he was desperate to respect them.
The star said that playing the role of investigating officer DCI Paul Bethell in the series focusing on the murders of three young women in Port Talbot, Wales was ‘totally the opposite’ to his well-known character Gene Hunt.
The actor, who starred in the 2006 show alongside John Simm, said he felt a sense of “responsibility” in the upcoming four-part drama series based on the real life Llandarcy murders.
