The BBC has said it was “unaware” of a social media post made by a contestant on The Traitors that compared Israel to Nazi Germany before the programme aired.
The broadcaster apologised to viewers after it emerged that Marzook Bana, known as Maz on the series, had posted comments on Facebook in 2021 likening an Israeli checkpoint in the West Bank to the actions of the Nazis. The comments were first reported by Jewish News.
