New of its unexpected return caused great excitement in 2021 and on Tuesday, viewers can get their first look at the new series of Waterloo Road.
Nearly 17 years have now passed since the hit BBC drama first launched on screen screen, with a number of well known faces in the cast including Jill Halfpenny, Denise Welch, Jason Merrells and Angela Griffin.
The harrowing death of Jill's character, drama teacher Izzie Redpath, gave Waterloo Road one of its most dramatic storylines in the early days, while Izzie's daughter Clo and boyfriend Donte were at the centre of drink driving and teenage pregnancy plots as the school drama regularly pulled in millions of viewers.
And speaking of Clo and Dante, the actors who played them - Adam Thomas and Katie Griffiths - are back in the Waterloo Road cast for its return, and so is ex Coronation Street actress Angela, who played popular teacher Kim Campbell, along with a few new but recognisable faces, including Strictly star Kym Marsh.
