Nick Knowles has been joined by a cast of hundreds of volunteers and a few Strictly Come Dancing stars as the BBC host gets set for the big unveiling of a DIY SOS project in Wallsend on Tuesday.
Popular presenter Nick and his co-host Gabby Blackman arrived on Tyneside last week as a large scale Big Build transformation got going on derelict land, with the aim of creating a new home for True Colours Theatre, a North East based charity which runs an inclusive theatre school for children and young people in the region, many of whom have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, physical and life limiting conditions and various mental health issues.
A host of Strictly pros were set to get their hard hats and hi-vis on for the DIY SOS build, as an appeal for put out for local tradespeople to offer their time. as well as donating some key materials required for the project. Dancers like of Graziano Di Prima, Luba Mushtuk and Katya Jones have been involved in the mammoth effort over the last week, with Katya joining Nick at a concert from the True Colours children at the weekend and being blown away by their talent and everything the charity does.

She was on site with Nick, Gabby and many others involved in the Big Build at the premises on Shafto Street in Wallsend for the big reveal and the hosts were spotted along with volunteers, right before Strictly judge Anton Du Beke was due to arrive on site to do the honours..
Nick and Gaby got plenty of attention from locals who'd arrived to get a look at the final stages of the project and were snapped posing with fans and some of the volunteers against a van covered in the DIY SOS branding.
