BBC's Morning Live star announces he's expecting baby via surrogate with partner

Morning Live star Dr James Greenwood and his partner Mark have confirmed they are expecting a baby together.

Sharing a snap of the parents-to-be, James wrote: "Having not been abroad together for nearly 4 years, it felt so perfect to be back in the sunny and snow capped French Alps this past week, to the place where we met almost 15 years ago.

"Made even more poignant - this time - as the last holiday we’ll have just us two … as we are completely thrilled to share with you that in a matter of weeks we shall be welcoming the sound of tiny feet into our lives - our wonderful and INCREDIBLE surrogate and her most beautiful family, who we love so very much, have become such a massive part of our lives and words cannot begin to express how lucky we feel right now.

"Shall keep you posted, and so here begins a whole new chapter …"

The vet's adorable post was met with a flurry of congratulatory messages from his showbiz pals, including Morning Live's Kimberley Walsh.

She replied to the news, saying: ""Just the BEST news ever."

Bake Off star John Whaite wrote: "Ahhh lovely lovely news. Congratulations xx"

Sara Cox added: "Just the best news."

While Strictly's Oti Mabuse echoed: "Such incredible news."

James and Mark look delighted in the snap in which they hold a picture of their baby's scan while skiing in the French Alps.

TV animal James is a practising veterinary surgeon and resident vet on CBBC’s The Pets Factor, BBC One’s Morning Live and ITV’s The Pet Show.

Speaking about how he met his partner Mark, he told Attitude magazine last year: “[My husband and I have] been together 13 years after meeting online.

“He was running ski chalets in the French Alps, and I had just moved back to the UK, so it took us a while for our paths to cross in person, but when they did, everything just fell into place… He is also a massive animal lover, and the dream is to live on a small farm and be totally self-sufficient."
