Clive Myrie has thanked BBC viewers for their well wishes and concern as he shared news of his whereabouts following his departure from Ukraine.
Mastermind presenter Clive was hailed as a hero by those who watched him deliver live coverage from the war-torn eastern European country for the BBC, even hosting the 6 o'clock news from Kyiv as the Russian invasion continued.
Over the past weeks, he has shared a number of alarming videos on his Twitter, one of an explosion at a building close to the Ukraine base occupied by him and his BBC colleagues, including Lyse Doucet.
On Monday, Clive took to Twitter to shared the news he was leaving Kyiv, expressing sympathy for citizens desperate to escape to safety,

Next to a photo of a long line of traffic, Clive wrote: "It was a long, day of driving and queuing to get out of Kyiv. Imagine having to leave all you know in a hurry because you’re being shelled! What do you pack? Do pets come too? It’s freezing cold and you pray those in neighbouring countries will welcome you, not despise you.
"My thoughts are with the 1 million who’ve fled Ukraine because they might be killed. The millions who fled Syria and many other millions escaping repression, poverty, war. They all pray they’ll be welcomed in other countries as human beings. That’s all they ask."

On Tuesday, as BBC Breakfast viewers appealed to host Dan Walker for information on Clive's whereabouts, the presenter revealed he was heading back to the UK, while vowing to return to Ukraine.
He wrote: "A quick thank you for all your good wishes over the last 2 weeks, you’ve all been very kind to me and the BBC teams in Ukraine. I’m now heading back to London, but will return."
His post received a huge reaction, with many of his followers relieved he was safe.
One told him: "Thanks Clive for all you have done to show us the reality of war with potential personal risk to yourself,be safe."
Thanking him and wishing him well, another replied: "Our thanks to you and the team, Clive. We are in awe of the journalism and professionalism despite the situation you were in, all to ensure the true story is told. You all deserve a rest now," with a third telling him: "Clive if you ever read any of my tweets you will know! My heart was continually worrying for you and your teams’ safety!! Excellent reporting. Thank you."
