THE BBC have (rapidly) deleted a tweet after a Scottish Government minister made a public complaint.
Jenny Gilruth, Scotland’s Education Secretary, appeared on the BBC’s Sunday Show today but was labelled as just "SNP" in a tweet unveiling the guests beforehand.
Shared by the BBC Scotland press office on Saturday evening, the tweet labelled various other guests by their full titles.
Notably, this included Alister Jack, who was described as Secretary of State for Scotland – rather than “Tory”.

Gilruth took to Twitter to complain, writing: “Hi @BBCScotland - is there a reason I am described as ‘SNP’ and Alister Jack is ‘Secretary of State for Scotland’?”
Many commented in response, expressing their disapproval.
“That’s very poor,” said Lorna McFadzean.
Elizabeth added: “They @BBCScotland do it all the time and need to be called out more often. The BBC is supposed to be impartial but is clearly not.”

The account swiftly deleted the tweet, before then reuploading it - this time describing Jenny Gilruth by her ministerial position.
“Thank you for the correction,” Gilruth responded.
Well, we wonder what made the BBC decide to make the distinction in the first place...
