A BBC presenter has urged people to check themselves after announcing she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Laura Rawlings said she was in 'complete shock' and her brain felt like it was going to 'explode into a thousand pieces of fear' when she was given the diagnosis.
She said: "There's no easy way to put this but I need to share what's going on behind the scenes with me. I've been diagnosed with breast cancer that's also in my lymph glands. It's a complete shock. I've felt my brain explode into a thousand pieces of fear. I'm massively grateful for all the help and support in putting the pieces together again."
Laura will begin chemotherapy within days, reports BristolLive. She said: "Sorry if I haven't been able to tell you personally - it's emotionally tough and hospital appointments and admin is full on," she wrote. "Please don't be strange though or feel awkward about getting in touch."
