BBC Morning Live's Dr James Greenwood has announced that he and his partner of 15 years, Mark, have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate. The TV doctor took to Instagram to reveal the joyful news, saying that the new parents were "bursting with joy", reports The Mirror.
James posted a sweet snap of the couple with Rachel – who carried their son – in hospital cradling the newborn after giving birth to a baby boy. He captioned the post: "Here we go!!! We are all so thrilled and our hearts are bursting with joy. Introducing Oliver James Titterton-Greenwood, born 9.54 pm last night, 7.8 pounds.
"Baby and Dads all doing great, more importantly so is our incredible surrogate Rachael - the most incredible human being on this planet who has blown us all away with her phenomenal generosity and incredible strength." He added: "Our hearts are overflowing with joy. J&M Xxx"
And many of James' followers flocked to the comments to congratulate them, one wrote: "Congratulations guys! Welcome to the beautiful chaos of parenthood x" Another added: "Just WOW congratulations to the whole family."
A third commented: "Congratulations guys Love the name! Hope everyone is well!! You will be the best dads!! Xxxx." Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley wrote: "Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes" alongside a yellow heart emoji.
Back in March, James revealed that he and Mark were expecting a baby together in an Instagram post while the couple were on holiday in the French Alps.
They shared a loved-up snap of them on a skiing holiday, telling their followers that this would be their last holiday as a two before their new arrival makes an appearance.
He wrote: "Having not been abroad together for nearly 4 years, it felt so perfect to be back in the sunny and snow capped French Alps this past week, to the place where we met almost 15 years ago.
"Made even more poignant - this time - as the last holiday we’ll have just us two … as we are completely thrilled to share with you that in a matter of weeks we shall be welcoming the sound of tiny feet into our lives - our wonderful and INCREDIBLE surrogate and her most beautiful family, who we love so very much, have become such a massive part of our lives and words cannot begin to express how lucky we feel right now. Shall keep you posted, and so here begins a whole new chapter …"
