BBC News veteran Joanna Gosling has thanked fans for their "overwhelmingly lovely" messages after confirming she's quitting after 23 years.

Joanna, 51, confirmed she is leaving the BBC earlier this week and will go off air for the last time on January 26.

Taking to Twitter she said: "Yet again your response to something I’ve done is overwhelmingly lovely and I am so grateful.
