BBC News presenter Maryam Moshiri has revealed she has been undergoing treatment for an incurable blood cancer over the past two years.
The 49-year-old presenter was diagnosed with Polycythaemia vera, a rare type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and causes blood to thicken.
Her treatment involves having blood periodically removed to reduce her red blood cell count, a process that causes fatigue.
Despite her diagnosis, Moshiri has continued to front live news broadcasts, including covering major global stories on 14-hour shifts.
Moshiri is now supporting Blood Cancer UK's 'Here for This' campaign to raise awareness about how the disease impacts everyday life and family moments.
