BBC MasterChef Gregg Wallace and John Torode branded 'annoying' by fans over 'stressful' behaviour

BBC MasterChef fans went on to criticise John Torode and Gregg Wallace's behaviour as the finals week kicked off with the episode filmed from Turkey. Viewers were left fuming and took to social media to voice their frustration.

As the TV stars were giving out their instructions, fans watching the programme complained that John and Gregg were "shouting" at the contestants, according to Birmingham Live. "These two are so annoying! Why do they keep stressing the contestant's out?" asked a fan.

Done Tweeting fumed: "Given the amount of times John & Gregg have dispensed with talented vegan cooks throughout all series of this prog. perhaps they should re name #Masterchef “Meathead Chef”! @JohnTorode1 @GreggAWallace" Norfolk Wife typed: ""I think MasterChef would be significantly improved without Gregg's gurning."

Ariadne said: "John and Gregg acting like the world just ended because Anurag lightly tore a piece of fish skin <3 The two of them are on a conveyor belt to inevitable pantomime damehood. #MasterChefUK #MasterChef." She added: "replace both Gregg and John with these two Turkish women please. The perfect Good Cop, Bad Cop duality. #MasterChefUK

The final four talented amateur cooks embarked on the culinary adventure of a lifetime in Istanbul, where they face three extraordinary challenges that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Their journey started in a community garden in the historic village of Kuzguncuk.

Split into teams of two, each pair were tasked with cooking two well-known local dishes, rooted in centuries of tradition, for local people. To help the finalists make sense of this unique multicultural cuisine, they were mentored by one of Turkey's best-known chefs, Refika Birgül.

The finalists then worked with Fatih Tutak at Turk, the only restaurant in Istanbul to have been awarded two Michelin stars. In the final task, they had to serve up a lunch at Pera House – home to the British Consulate General and the political centre of Turkish-British relations for over 200 years - hosted by the British Consul General himself- Kenan Poleo.
