Yorkshire-born Amy Garcia has becoming a recognisable face on our television screens.
The 42-year-old is best known for her had-hitting real life stories, including her recent work to highlight the cost of living crisis. She has worked on Look North since 2013, but was already familiar with audiences who had seen her on BBC South Today.
And while she has become a BBC mogul, her career began alongside Holly Willoughby on children's TV. Then she went on to work for Sky Television before landed her BBC roles.
What did Amy do before her TV jobs?
Before all of her success in the television and journalism world, her very first job was as a singer on a cruise ship. This lead her to applying for an advert in presenter work.
Where is Amy from?
Garcia's mother is English and her father is of Spanish descent; her parents run a curtain business in Wakefield together. Amy was born in Wakefield.
As a youngster, she attended Kettlethorpe High School and Wakefield College before moving to London aged 19 for her first TV job. After four years spent working on programmes for CBBC, CITV and the Disney channel, she moved to Sky, and Amy then went onto achieve in MA in television journalism.
She spent some time in London, but after getting her Look North job she ventured back up to Yorkshire. Now, she lives in York with her husband of ten years and their two children.
Garcia met husband Tim in London but he is from Mirfield.
What does she do in her free time?
The star is often seen enjoying glamorous events, smiling on set, or taking part in a charity fundraiser.
While the presenter mostly prefers to keep her children out of the spotlight, she does enjoy sharing sweet snaps of her son and daughter. And she is happy to gush over her hubby, songwriter, Tim, like in the below Instagram shared in celebration of their 11th wedding anniversary last year.
It is also clear her family mean a lot to her, as evidenced by her heart-warming post to mark her parents' 45th wedding anniversary. Just like her parents, who are covered in mud in the snap, Amy is not afraid to get down and dirty when needed.
Among the many adventurous activities she has undertaken for work, she has previously completed a military fitness course, and she once bear crawled around the office for the day after meeting a fundraiser attempting to complete a marathon in the same way.
The 'good sport', as her fans called her at the time, is also one for sports, and she is often pictured enjoying herself out on ski slopes.
