BBC Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next: Fans' hearts melted by moving relationship between mum and son

Fans have once again fallen in love with Harvey Price after he starred in a BBC One documentary this evening. Viewers were quick to take to social media to say the teenager melted their hearts after a number of moving scenes.

The documentary followed Harvey through six months of his life as he enrolled at Cheltenham's National Star College. The teenager lives with a range of complex medical and behavioural conditions including autism and septo-optic dysplasia, which is a rare disorder that affects brain function, vision, and hormones.

During the hour episode, Harvey told Katie Price he couldn't wait to go to make new friends, as the former glamour model revealed her biggest hope was that he would be able to walk around a supermarket independently or fold a towel.

Katie also revealed by the time she was Harvey's age, she was already pregnant with her first child. Harvey was speechless when he arrived in his new digs, cheering with joy. But there was an emotional farewell when he finally had to kiss his 'mummy' goodbye.

Under the watchful eye and nurturing care of staff at the college, Harvey's carers had to work out their own ways of dealing with the challenging behaviours Harvey exhibits as he settles into his new way of life, without his mum. The college staff soon work out that the best way to persuade Harvey to take his medication is to film him taking it, then sending it to Katie.

Harvey can sometimes be very reactive when it comes to being asked to do things. This is evidenced in one scene, which sees Harvey not being able to cope with the expectation placed on him by one of his carers.

His anxiety gets the best of him, and he bashes his head against the wall before falling to the floor and crying in the difficult scene. Harvey's carers are eventually able to calm him down by assisting him in taking deep breaths and telling him to 'use his words' as they remind him that it is important for him to leave his dorm.

Viewers were quick to take to social media to praise the amazing bond Katie has with her son. Suzie Gal wrote: "Harvey Price, what a boy - melts my heart. Say what you like about his mum @KatiePrice but she's the best mum to him. Amazing."

Jan Birch said something similar: "Katie is such a brilliant mom with Harvey. There is such a brilliant bond between them, good luck in your new venture Harvey." And Em THFC wrote: "You can clearly see the strong bond Harvey has for his Mum - Katie. Moving away from home is a big step for anyone. Absolutely love them both."
