The guesswork is set to be finally over as the father of Lily Slater's unborn baby will be revealed in EastEnders. Those who have tuned into Wednesday's episode already on iPlayer have already discovered who the daddy is after the 12-year-old was left shocked to discover she was pregnant.
While we won't spoil it here for those who want to watch it as it airs on TV tonight (Wednesday), fans of the BBC One soap are pretty certain they already know who it is after remembering a previous clue.
Fans were left gobsmacked during the New Year's Day visit to Walford in which they first discovered Lily was pregnant. The schoolgirl was rushed to hospital after collapsing during a New Year's Eve party at her family home. Stacey's mum, Jean, also collapsed as did Eve Unwin.
It was later confirmed that their sudden ill health was caused by a carbon monoxide leak at home and subsequently, the whole family had to go to hospital to be checked out. However, Stacey wasn't prepared to discover that tests concluded that her daughter was pregnant.
Stacey has since faced questioning from a social worker and a detective as they try to establish whether anything sinister happened for her to end up with child and whether Lily would be safe to return home. During Tuesday night's episode, Lily was subsequently questioned by the police about how she got pregnant as a heartbroken Stacey listened from outside the interview room.
Stacey also eventually told her own mum, Jean, what was going on after initally keeping quiet. And despite both her mum and nan quizzing her for details on her surprise pregnancy, Lily wouldn't reveal who the father of the baby is.
Despite a couple of names being mentioned, including Freddie Slater, EastEnders fans are now pretty certain that Ricky Jr is the dad. And it all comes down to a scene in an episode aired months ago.
Taking to Twitter, @Onelifee3 shared: "14/11/22 Ricky stuck up for lily during a argument with Amy. Hidden a text on his phone Left Amy’s bday party to see a (mate) Next morning said he’ll be home late Next morning Lily smiling at her phone hiding it away from Stacey Could this of been the day ? #EastEnders."
@geordiegalg echoed: "I really think the father of Lily's baby is Ricky Jr. Thinking back, there have been loads of little scenes where he's taking calls or dashing off somewhere, but noone really notices. He's been very much under the radar recently as has Lily & I think this is why. #EastEnders."
@RussLeah1984 meanwhile suggested: "#EastEnders I think the father of Lily's baby will be Ricky because Jack assaulted Denzel as he thought he had slept with Amy. So imagine how Jack would look after what he did to Denzel, only to find out that his son has actually been sexually active, unlike his daughter." @natashate1983 added: "It better be Ricky Jnr. I have been saying it for weeks. While Jack was focused on Amy, he was going to a 'friends' #Eastenders."
