BBC Dragons' Den star Deborah Meaden is supported over her defiant face mask stance

One of the most famous dragons from Dragons' Den, Deborah Meaden, has come out in very strong support of continuing to wear a mask.

The current rules and guidance in England does not require anyone to wear a mask in any setting, while in Wales masks still remain in place in shops and on public transport. You can read what all the rules are across the UK here.

Making a strong stance and supporting continual face mask wearing, Deborah tweeted a photo of herself wearing a mask with a cat on it, with the caption: "Me going about my business today and every day until I hear a science-based argument on why wearing a mask is no longer needed to protect those more vulnerable than me... #wearamask"

The Tweet has received over 67,000 'likes' and many people replied to Deborah supporting her decision and saying they would be doing the same.

One person said: "Good on you for setting an example to protect those more vulnerable and reduce the risk of a new variant"

And: "Yes Deborah! You have helped many of those who are vulnerable feel like they matter...I'm glad you can see many of us agree with you."

Another said: "Thank you, I appreciate your concern for others."

A fourth added: "My message to @DeborahMeaden, as a blood cancer patient, who works, with a family, is a thank you."

Among the many positive replies, Deborah received some negativity and abuse, however, this has not stopped Deborah. She later tweeted: "The kindness has won and I can take as much trolling as they like if one vulnerable person feels supported by so many lovely tweets on here....and they are overwhelming!"
