The eagerly-anticipated Doctor Who Easter epsiodes, which is one of three specials featuring Jodie Whittaker's last outing as the Doctor, now has an official air date. Legend of the Sea Devils has been confirmed to air on Easter Sunday, April, 17.
The BBC has not yet confirmed an air time for the show but the episode is expected to be screened in the evening. This will be the penultimate episode with Jodie in the role of Doctor Who and no details have been revealed about her replacement yet.
This is one of the few times that the BBC has chosen to air the Easter special on the Sunday and many fans believe there will be references to Easter within the show. In the episode, the Doctor will be battling the classic Doctor Who villain the Sea Devils with her current companions Yaz and Dan.

Bradley Walsh is rumoured to be making an appearance in the Easter special after fans spotted him on set in Wales -you can read the Welsh filming locations for Doctor Who here, alongside co-star Jacob Anderson. Neither Bradley or Jacob have been confirmed for the Easter special by the BBC.
Who is among the cast for the Doctor Who Easter special?
Jodie Whittaker as Dr Who
As her time as the Doctor comes to an end Jodie will be starring in Legend of the Sea Devils on Easter Sunday. After that she will have one more episode as Doctor Who before her unknown replacement takes over.
Previously Jodie has starred in the Netflix series Black Mirror and the hit ITV drama Broadchurch. She has played the Doctor since 2018 for three series.
Mandip Gill as Yaz
Since 2018 Mandip Gill has joined Jodie as Yaz, the Doctor's companion, and it is currently unknown if Yaz will remain in the show after the Doctor regenerates. Mandip has also recently starred in the Apple TV+ series Suspicion which first aired in February 2022 and has previously starred in the BBC medical drama Casualty and The Good Karma Hospital.
John Bishop as Dan
In one of his first major acting roles, comedian John Bishop has played Dan since 2021. It is not confirmed if John will be returning as Dan after Jodie's departure and you can read more about John's off-screen life here.
Crystal Yu as Madame Ching
Playing the evil pirate queen Madame Ching is Crystal Yu as one of the guest stars for the episode. Previously she has had a main role in the BBC drama Casualty and will be appearing in the 2022 film Deus.
Arthur Lee as Ji-Hun
In the role of Ji-Hun is Arthur Lee and he has previously starred in Strike Back, Lucky Man, Greta, and the 2022 film The Batman.
Marlow Chan-Reeves as Ying Ki
Marlow Chan-Reeves will take on the role of Ying Ki and this is his first major acting role.
