Crossfire aired on BBC One on Tuesday night, the first in a three-part series. Starring Keeley Hawes, Hugo Silva and Lee Ingleby, it was a gripping and intense drama about guests caught up in an attack by masked gunmen at an isolated resort hotel.
The drama had viewers hooked and guessing throughout as what should have been a holiday in the sun for a group of adult friends and their children turns into a nightmare, separating the friends and leaving each to fend for themselves while completely in the dark about the fate of the others.
Crossfire is a three-part drama. Parts two and three air on Wednesday and Thursday night this week. Part one ended on a cliffhanger when Jo, played by Hawes, found herself face to face with one of the gunmen.
But there was one part of the plot that viewers found a bit unrealistic. When Jo's husband Jason, played by Ingleby, finds out his wife is having an affair with one of their best friends he suddenly becomes more concerned about that than the fate of his two young children, missing in a hotel where three gunmen are on the loose shooting people.
One viewer, Katie Hughes, wrote: "Can I just say Jason is a complete and utter t**t. He's gone from being really bothered about his kids to not giving a shit because his wife slept with his mate."
Euan Campbell wrote: "Jason in Crossfire somehow managing to be the most unlikeable character despite there being several gunmen shooting innocent children."
Another said: "Sir, your children are missing and there’s a gunman on the loose. focus on how your wife and best friend are having an affair later."
