BBC Breakfast presenter announces pregnancy after months of 'intense' symptoms

BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst chose Mother's Day to make an announcement about her personal life. The journalist and newsreader took to Instagram on Sunday to announce her pregnancy.

Uploading a series of snaps to celebrate Mother's Day, she revealed she is expecting her third child. Alongside the photos she began: "Happy Mother's Day to all of those who are any part of this endless handover of love, values, genes, chaos and perpetually crumb-infested kitchens.

"I'd like to say 'you got this Mama!' But maybe you haven't. I dunno. It's hard isn't it?"

As she continued with the post, spotted by the Mirror, she wrote: "That said we are doing it again. It's been a funky few months… involving intense migraines, vomiting, morning kebabs, first time acne, small acts of violence against fruit, afternoon kebabs, tears, spontaneous snoozes, anxiety and more kebabs.

"I am settling in to the middle chunk (emphasis on chunk ) and enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature and her tiny kicks and flutters. The boys and the cat have been enjoying their new chair God willing, Baby Doner-Shish joins the outside world in the summer."

A stream of good wishes followed while some made a guess at the sex of the unborn baby. One said: "Money on a girl with those symptoms. Congratulations x".

Others thought they knew that some happy news was about to be shared. One person wrote: "I bloomin' knew it! Thought for ages now you had a baby bump. Congratulations, lovely news."

While Nina celebrated her good news she also shared a heartfelt message. She updated her post to add a message especially for those who had suffered loss.

She wrote: "I am blown away that we do this. And acutely aware of the privilege, born of nothing but fortune. Sending love to those who've had to say goodbye to the babies they lost and the ones they dreamed of."
