BBC Bargain Hunt couple cash in big profit with hidden gem vintage watch

A married couple cashed in an impressive profit on BBC's Bargain Hunt on Thursday, October 6, as the show headed to Bath Racecourse in Somerset. The couples were introduced by presenter Eric Knowles, with Nathalie and Karl on the red team alongside the blue team of Adam and Jemma.

While Nathalie and Karl were tasked with finding a fashion accessory, Adam and Jemma were told to hunt for an item with a Chinese connection, The Mirror reports. As the teams set about scouring the market for wares, antiques expert Raj Bisram said of the red team: “This is probably one of the easiest teams I’ve ever had. Twenty mins down, two items. It’s a walk in the park – what else can I say.”

In addition to a £15 Swedish vase, Nathalie and Karl nailed both the Big Buy Challenge and their Presenter's Challenge to buy a fashion accessory, reports Somerset Live. They spent a staggering £130 on a vintage gentleman's Omega watch, which dated back to the 1970s.

The couple wrapped things up by nabbing a £20 Clarice Cliff mustard pot, which was missing a lid. The show then proceeded to the auction stage in Chippenham, as Nathalie and Karl's items were laid out before a crowd of eager buyers.

The couple’s Swedish vase fetched £30, cashing in on double the purchase price for the pair, despite the fact the beautiful glassware had a mark on it. Tim was unable to contain himself as soon as he set eyes on the Omega watch, stating that it was the ‘height of fashion’.

The couple were shocked when they were able to double their money once again as Tim netted them £260 for the vintage accessory, after purchasing it for £130. Finally, the Clarice Cliff earnt Nathalie and Karl a £4 profit, meaning they managed to bring home a whopping profit of £149.

After auctioning off their items, it was time for Raj to surprise the couple with their Bonus Buy item – a bowls set which netted Nathalie and Karl another £16, leaving them with a staggering profit of £165 by the end of the show.
