The BBC was forced to apologise after the Cambridge cox used foul language to celebrate his team’s dramatic win in the controversial women’s Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge.
Cambridge soared to victory in record time and the BBC camera crew cut to cox Jasper Parish before the finish as he was bellowing instructions to the rowers. He was yelling: “F*** yeah!”
Despite taking place on BBC1 shortly at around 2:30pm, there was no on-air apology from presenter Clare Balding or commentator Andrew Cotter. At the time, Cotter acknowledged the outburst by saying: “Let’s roll down the fader on Jasper there.”
