A man suffered a fractured eye socket after an attacker slammed his head into the floor during a violent watch robbery in a Fulham park.
The suspect struck the man on the head, as he walked out of Bayonne Park and onto Paynes Walk, and demanded his Tag Heuer watch. The Met Police said the attacker began punching and kicking the victim, a man in his 50s, in the face.
The attacker removed the watch, possibly damaging the pin in the process, and ran off but returned to the scene to steal the victim’s two Motorola mobile phones.
The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries including a fractured eye socket, as well as severe bruising and swelling to his face.
Police said the attack happened about midday on September 1.
The force has released a picture of a man they are looking to speak to and has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The suspect is a black man of an athletic build with short black hair and light facial hair. He was wearing a green hoodie with light grey trackies.
Detective inspector James Griffin, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was an extremely violent attack and my team needs the help of the public to detain this man.
“We are doing all we can to identify the person responsible before he can cause any further harm.”
