Bayern Munich's plan for Sadio Mane after punch and apology

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that former Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane will return to the Bayern Munich squad after being sanctioned for his bust-up with Leroy Sane.

The Senegal icon was fined and left out of the squad that drew 1-1 with TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday after an incident with the ex-Manchester City forward. Their encounter came in the aftermath of their chastening 3-0 defeat at Sane's former club in the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

Mane was said to have punched the German after being upset with the manner he was spoken to late on against the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium. It led to a 'loud discussion' which saw the pair separated with the 31-year-old reportedly landing a blow on his teammate - which appeared to leave Sane with a swollen lip spotted on Saturday.

On Thursday, the Bundesliga giants made the decision to exclude him from the matchday squad along with a fine. However, after they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils at the Allianz Arena, Tuchel revealed that the summer signing's time in the cold was over.

They welcome Pep Guardiola back to Bavaria on Wednesday but face the uphill task of overturning a three-goal deficit as City chase the elusive European crown.

"Sadio has already shown a reaction and apologised," the former Chelsea boss told reporters. "Tomorrow he'll be back in training as normal and will be in the squad against Manchester City."

On Thursday, Mane and Sane were both involved in training following a meeting with the Bayern Munich chiefs.
