Bayern Munich manager sends nine-word Chelsea transfer message amid Benjamin Pavard links

Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has sent Chelsea a nine-word transfer message following reports that the Blues are targeting a move for Benjamin Pavard this summer.

Thomas Tuchel admitted that he wants to add at least one more defender to his squad prior to the transfer deadline. Kalidou Koulibaly has already made the move to Stamford Bridge after completing a £34million move from Napoli, following Raheem Sterling to west London.

football.london understands that Chelsea are extremely confident of signing Sevilla's Jules Kounde after the two clubs verbally agreed a £51million fee, whilst personal terms were agreed with the 23-year-old months ago. With the futures of Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta still uncertain, the Blues are searching for defensive reinforcements to add to their squad following Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen's departures earlier this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard this summer as a potential addition to Tuchel's squad. The German giants' boss Nagelsmann commented on the Frenchman's future and admitted: "I really want him to stay, I want to keep him.”

The 26-year-old can play at centre-back and full-back making him a versatile option for any squad. The France international would be a great option to have in Tuchel's squad with the club searching for cover at centre-back and a back-up option for talented right wing-back Reece James.

Pavard joined Bayern back in 2019 for a fee in the region of £30million from Stuttgart and has since made over 110 appearances for the current Bundesliga champions. Chelsea are expected to complete a deal for Pavard's compatriot Jules Kounde in the coming days as Todd Boehly continues to back Tuchel in the transfer market, with the club still in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe as well.
