Bayern Munich believe Harry Kane AND Tottenham could be tempted by fresh transfer bid

Bayern Munich are ready to come back with an £80m offer to sign Harry Kane.

The German giants are determined to get their man despite Tottenham insisting they will not sell Kane this summer. Bayern believe Kane - who is 30 next month and has just one year left on his contract - is ready to move to Germany for a new challenge in his career.

The newly-crowned German champions can offer Champions League football, the chance to win major trophies and Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel could be key in selling the vision to Kane.

Bayern have already seen one approach knocked back and were told in no uncertain terms that £65m would not be enough and Kane was not for sale.

But they are refusing to give up and believe they can test Tottenham’s resolve and chairman Daniel Levy’s determination not to sell the club’s top scorer.

That figure is likely to be £80m which may still not be enough - but is a clear sign that Bayern are determined to make Kane their No1 transfer target.

Tottenham will run the risk of Kane running down his contract and potentially leaving for free next summer when he would have the pick of his clubs.

But Levy has steadfastly refused to entertain the idea of selling Kane and especially to a Premier League rival in Manchester United while Real Madrid have also given up after having approaches rebuffed.‌

However, Bayern believe they can tempt Spurs and that Kane is ready to move and selling to a foreign club would not be as painful as losing him to a Prem rival.

Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp does not expect Kane to leave North London for Bavaria however, instead believing it is inevitable he remains with his current employers. "[Kane] is cert to stay at Tottenham. I think he is building a new house," the 76-year-old told BBC Radio Wales.

"Family would be the all-important thing for him, so there's no chance he's going to Bayern Munich. He'll be staying at Tottenham.

"He's not going to want to go to Germany - he's not taking his family over there, not a chance. So if he stays here, unless you go to Manchester City, you're not guaranteed to win anything."

Kane finished last season as Spurs' top scorer with 30 Premier League goals, second only to Erling Haaland in the overall standings, and became the London side's all-time leading scorer.

It wasn't enough for European qualification, though, with Spurs - who finished fourth in the 2021-22 season - dropping to eighth before bringing in former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as their new manager for the upcoming campaign.
