Battlefield 6 lead says recoil will be "100% fixed," but "it's a pretty complex issue" that'll take some time to resolve: "We're already cooking some improvements"

Battlefield 6.

A recurring theme of Battlefield 6's issues since launch has been the recoil. The bloom, knockback, and sensitivity are sticking points, the latter being the most egregious problem, with sections of the community continually requesting for some sort of patch or change.

Updates are coming from EA and the Battlefield studios, but they're going to take a minute because, well, it's not an easy problem to solve. "We'll get it fixed, it's a pretty complex issue, but we're already cooking some improvements that will help quite a bit with the issue until it's 100% fixed," Florian Le Bihan, a principal game designer on Battlefield 6, said on Twitter.

His post is in response to a player's frustration over the recoil, where they state the mechanic itself "needs to go." Alas, removing something integral to the gunplay from a release as large as Battlefield 6 is much easier said than done, and there's likely some extreme Jenga going on behind the scenes to make sure the changeover is as seamless as possible when the recoil is altered somehow.

One suggestion in response to Le Bihan is to dial the recoil down to wherever it was during the open beta. This is something the teams behind Battlefield 6 have done previously for other aspects of the FPS, in order to put a band-aid on the problem while they tinker on something longer-term.

We could very well see the same happen here. Whatever comes next and however it's delivered, Le Bihan's comments make it clear EA, DICE, and the other studios involved in Battlefield 6 are aware of people's issues, and are looking for a resolution that will fix more problems than it causes. Watch this space.

EA claims Battlefield 6 is the "best-selling shooter game of the year," but that's actually selling it short according to sales data.
