Battle for use of Chiefs NRL team name headed for court

The battle for the NRL's Papua New Guinea expansion side to be called the Chiefs is set to be decided by a judge with New Zealand Rugby (NZR) filing proceedings in the NZ High Court.

NZR said it was forced into legal action after being unable to "engage with the ARLC constructively" over the past 12 months to work towards a resolution.
