A £140 million luxury apartment tower is to be built on the riverside site of the factory that made the candles illuminating historic London spectacles such as Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation in 1953, and Sir Winston Churchill’s state funeral in 1965.
Apartments starting from £625,000 went on sale this week at The HiLight, a 24 storey residential building where the Price’s Candles manufacturing complex stood at its peak employing more than 2000 people.
