Battersea dogs visit London landmarks in the cutest rescue campaign

Rescue pups visited the sights of London this week as they went in search of their fur-ever homes as part of a rehoming drive.

Battersea Dogs Home workers took some four-legged friends out and about around the capital to show them off as part of their September campaign drive.

Battersea’s “Wear Blue for Rescue” campaign is hoping to encourage people to come and see what pets they have ready to go to loving homes while raising awareness and support for the work the animal welfare charity does.

Hopping in one of London’s renowned black taxis, which were revamped for the occasion, Battersea dogs were spotted at some of the city’s iconic landmarks, from the historic Tower of London and Tower Bridge to the world-famous London Eye and Palace of Westminster.

And they did so in style, wearing blue for the occasion to mark the month.

‌Also joining the furry crusade were London’s famous black cabs and iconic red buses, which turned blue this month in a bid to encourage people to show their love and support for animals who had been abandoned.

Rachel, Head Nurse at Battersea, said: “We had great fun travelling in style with our dogs to visit some of London’s famous sites and celebrating Battersea’s Wear Blue for Rescue. City-goers will be able to catch a ride in a special Wear Blue for Rescue taxi or bus, so whether you’re travelling to the Isle of Dogs, Barking or even Catford, you can show your support for rescue.”

‌Throughout September, Battersea is asking pet lovers everywhere to show their love for rescue with “Wear Blue for Rescue”, and take to social media to show off their pets.‌
