Batgirl star spotted in Edinburgh during break from filming superhero epic

By night, she is the caped crusader tackling crime on Scotland’s debauched back streets.

But by day, the star of DC’s Batgirl has found a new home in Edinburgh after taking a break from filming the upcoming superhero blockbuster across the M8.

Leslie Grace, who will play the titular character in the HBO Max production, posted pictures of a trip to the capital as she sipped on a coffee at a popular Cockburn Street cafe.

The eatery is just a stone's throw from where Avengers' Scarlet Witch and Vision watched rolling news coverage of an attack on New York City back in 2018.

The actor also posed on the city’s photogenic Victoria Street as she enjoyed a hiatus from shooting scenes in Glasgow.

The film, which also stars Michael Keaton as Batman, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Brendan Frasier as villain Firefly, has transformed parts of the second city into brooding Gotham for the second time in the space of a year.

It previously hosted filming of Robert Pattinson’s version of the dark knight before it was confirmed Keaton would reprise his role for the first time since 1989.

Details of the plot have been kept under wraps, but images of Frasier emerging from a burning building were captured by avid fans, according to Glasgow Live.
