It's being reported the Batgirl movie will not be released by Warner Bros., despite filming already being completed. The New York Post claims the film is being shelved after a poor reaction at test screenings.
A large part of the film was shot in Glasgow, and saw huge names flock to the city. But it’s thought the DC Comics creation is going to be completely axed, meaning it won’t hit the cinema or HBO Max streaming service and nobody will get to the the finished production.
Movie bosses are thought to have made the decision after test screenings of the $70 million film were so poorly received.
Glasgow doubled up as Gotham City once again for the film after creators of The Batman – which stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader – also chose to film in the city.
While Robert didn’t make an appearance, Batgirl Leslie Grace caused a sensation when she was spotted in the Trongate area of the city, which was transformed into a Christmas market.
Leslie, or a stunt double, was also seen on the roof of a building nearby.
Batgirl was only her second acting job and told the Record earlier this year she was proud to be starring in the first standalone Batgirl movie.
She added: "I’m so excited to honour this iconic character, whose legacy spans more than 50 years. It’s a huge responsibility but also an honour."
