Bastar IGP, commissioner cast their votes for first phase of Chhattisgarh assembly elections

RAIPUR: Bastar range inspector general of police P Sundarraj in a statement said that citizens were enthusiastically fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities for the peace, security and development of Bastar region and security forces were continuously giving a befitting reply to the conspiracy of Maoists to carry out violent activities on the voting day.

The DRG, STF, Bastar Fighter force, CoBRA unit, and Central Paramilitary Forces were searching in the interior area of Bastar while the border area was guarded by the special forces of Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

Sundarraj and Bastar commissioner Shyam Dhavde queued up in the polling booth number 75 established in Shaheed Bhagat Singh High School of Jagdalpur town exercised their franchise. IG Sundarraj also took a selfie in the selfie zone created in the polling station premises. He encouraged the voters who came to the polling station to cast their vote and appealed saying that it is the joint responsibility of all of us to strengthen the democracy.
