Basketball player Arshpreet set to play for India again after dope ban reduction

NEW DELHI: Hoopster Arshpreet Singh Bhullar, the 'Most Valuable Player' at the 2019 senior Nationals, will soon be seen donning the Indian jersey again after the National Anti-Doping Agency's (NADA) appeal panel reduced his doping ban for a specified substance to two years, paving the way for his return to the basketball circuit from September 17.

Arshpreet, who had once donned the skipper's cap, was banned for four years on September 17, 2020 by NADA for testing positive for prohibited specified stimulant 5-Methylhexan-2-amine. The Punjab cager, a 3x3 format specialist, would have remained banned from all kinds of basketball activities till September 16, 2024 when his four-year ineligibility concluded.
