Scott Rolen on Tuesday pulled off the biggest climb in modern Baseball Hall of Fame voting history. After receiving just 10.2% support in his first year of eligibility, he was elected by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America in his sixth year with 76.3% of the vote—clearing the needed threshold by five votes out of 389 cast.
