A baseball fan was left devastated after dropping a historic home run from Aaron Judge - with the ball tipped to be worth a staggering $2m.
New York Yankees star Judge hit his 61st home run of the season in an 8-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, tying Roger Maris' record from 1961.
Several fans had their arms outstretched as Judge's effort headed for the crowd, with one supporter in particular appearing perfectly placed for the catch.
However the ball slipped through his grasp and the Jays' fan was visibly distraught as he put his hands to his head before throwing his glove across the stand.
And it is estimated the ball could be worth $2m at action - and that could rise if Judge goes onto break Maris' record in the remaining games of the season.
Another nearby fan was identified as Frankie Lasagna and he insisted he came close to landing the piece of memorabilia.
He told the Canadian Press: "Two more feet and I would have had it. I needed a fishing net and I would have got it."
The ball instead fell to Toronto's bullpen coach Matt Buschmann, before it was handed over to Judge - but he passed it onto his mother Patty as a sign of his gratitude for her support.
He said: "She’s been with me through it all, that’s for sure. From the Little League days, from getting me ready for school, taking me to my first couple of practices and games, being there for my first professional game, being there for my debut, and then now getting the chance to be here for this
"This is so special. We’re not done yet.”
