Merseyside has always attracted famous faces, whether it's for the world-renowned football or for the links with The Beatles.
More recently, a host of celebrities also visited the region to get in on the Eurovision action. Liverpool is also growing increasingly popular with film productions too, who have chosen to shoot blockbuster movies here.
Even if stars are in Merseyside for work, they still need some downtime and many have opted to enjoy themselves with a bite to eat or drink. Many A-listers such as Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham also call Liverpool home and have their favourite haunts.

While some celebrity chefs have even chosen to set up restaurants in Merseyside, including Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Gino D'Acampo.
Here we've rounded up some of the bars, restaurants and cafes in and around Liverpool where famous people have been spotted.
Mamasan
Will Ferrell visited Liverpool ONE restaurant and bar Mamasan and was pictured with a member of staff. The Hollywood star visited the restaurant while enjoying a weekend in the city to watch football.
He joined fellow actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as their Wrexham team played Wealdstone FC on Saturday (February 11) afternoon. He then attended Manchester City's victory over Aston Villa on Sunday (February 12), appearing on Sky Sports' coverage.
Hope Street Hotel - 1931
During the same weekend, Will Ferrell also visited Hope Street Hotel's 1931 Restaurant in Liverpool city centre. The Hope St Hotel has a long list of celebrity clients - and is the preferred hotel for the Liverpool squad.
Jurgen Klopp caused a stir when he arrived to take on his current job as manager of LFC - with the national press mobbing him outside the hotel. Lady Gaga caused an even greater stir when she stayed at the hotel at the height of her career.
The Poker Face star stayed at a top-floor penthouse suite after performing at the then ECHO Arena. Other famous faces who have stayed at the hotel include Yoko Ono, the Gerrard's and Amanda Holden
Bold Street Coffee
Emmy and Tony-Award winning actress Jodie Comer is one of the many people who loves to eat and drink at Bold Street Coffee.
When asked for her favourite coffee shop during an interview with Vogue, the 30-year-old recommended Bold Street Coffee. Jodie said: “Best coffee in town in my humble opinion.”
Everton player Tom Davies is also known to frequently visit the coffee shop and café, for his caffeine fix when he's visiting the city centre. The business now has two venues in the city – Bold Street and The Plaza in Old Hall Street.
A first time BSC diner should opt for the signature dish, a Buoy, created almost a decade ago in a pop up kitchen. A Buoy us a toasted brioche bun, filled with scrambled eggs, melted cheese and plenty more stacked goodies.
Titanic - Stanley Bar and Grill
The Titanic hotel has attracted many celebrities and high profile events over the years, including Merseyside's own Kim Cattrall. The hotel has its own restaurant - Stanley Bar and Grill which has wined and dined many famous faces.
A-listers including Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland and R&B hitmaker Missy Elliot have all posted in the venue before. While Ciara and NFL player Russell Wilson even hosted their rehearsal dinner at the hotel’s restaurant before a top secret team of workers prepared nearby Peckforton Castle for the ceremony, back in 2016.
It also hosted Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger while they were judging X-Factor auditions. Jamie Carragher also chose the venue to host the 10th anniversary of his 23 Foundation. Guests included Steven Gerrard, Paddy McGuiness and Gary Neville.
Lucy In The Sky
It may look like an ordinary city centre café but Lucy In The Sky has attracted many A-listers over the years. Most recently, Sophie Ellis-Bextor visited after she hosted an iconic daytime disco in the kitchen department of John Lewis in Liverpool ONE, before taking EuroVillage by storm on the eve of the Grand Final.
Lucy in the Sky, based on Exchange Street East, is known for hosting footballers. Gini Wijnaldum frequently visited the cafe when he was playing for Liverpool FC. While Wayne Rooney and Robbie Fowler and have also been pictured there.
Tacola
Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson was spotted in East River, on Allerton Road, while she was filming in the city. Now called Tacola , the venue welcomed the actress back in 2021.
The star was spotted all over Merseyside at the time, as she was seen in Liverpool city centre and West Kirby. She was filming in the region for The Almond And The Sea Horse, a feature adaptation of Kaite O’Reilly’s stage play.
During her time in Merseyside she was also snapped outside Central Library and the World Museum, where she was seen surrounded by film crews.
Moose Coffee
While filming Peaky Blinders in Liverpool, Tom Hardy visited a few venues across the city. With his wife, actress Charlotte Riley, the actor was spotted back in 2015, watching Avengers: Age of Ultron at the Odeon in Liverpool ONE.
He also dined and had a bite to eat in Moose Coffee, on Dale Street. The Canadian-inspired restaurant has three sites in the city centre, on Dale Street, William Jessop Way and Federation House.
Other famous faces who have allegedly sat down in Moose for a stack of pancakes or Huevos Rancheros include Kim Cattrall, Elvis Costello, Alfred Molina and Brandon Flowers.
Gaucho
Despite only being open a matter of months, steak restaurant Gaucho has already welcomed its fair share of celebrities. In it's opening week alone, ex-footballers Ian Rush and Peter Reid and celebrities Dr Ranj and Jennifer Ellison attended the launch.
WAG Colleen Rooney and former wag Danielle Lloyd have also dined in the Argentinian-inspired restaurant. With 100% carbon neutral beef, there are various different cuts of steak to choose from that range from £20 and go up to £73.
Meet Argentinian Restaurant, The Bentley and Liberte
Football stars are known to enjoy a meaty meal in Meet restaurant in The Bently building, on the Strand. In previous years, Liverpool stars celebrated the birthday of Roberto Firmino's wife, Larissa Pereira there and Blues forward Richarlison was spotted at the party in the Bentley venue.
Other footballers including Mirallas, Ramirez and Robles have all been sighted in the restaurant. Above the restaurant, in the same building, those who prefer to party the night away can enjoy the Liberte bar and Bentley.
The venue has previously hosted Swedish Pop Star Zara Larsson who partied there after performing at Fusion Festival with Capital DJs. She took to Instagram to share some photographs inside the venue with her 5.5 million followers.
Gusto Bar and Restaurant
Red's boss Jurgen Klopp made Gusto one of his first stops when he first arrived in the city. The Albert Dock restaurant welcomes famous faces on a regular basis.
Pixie Lott, Jamie Lomas, Ray Quinn, Tess Daly, Rebecca Ferguson, Danielle Lloyd, Anton Du Bek and many more have dined in Gusto.
Neighbourhood
The venue famed for show stopping parties, food, cocktails and A-list events, opened back in 2016 and has welcomed a host of famous faces over the years. Stars including Tony Bellew, Nicholas Hoult, Damien Lewis, Clive Owen, Katie Price, Callum Best, Michael Keane and Roberto Firmino have been spotted there.
Since its opening celebrities and footballers have been spotted at the Castle Street restaurant including Coleen Rooney and Alex Gerrard.
Not to mention a number of reality TV stars including the cast of Geordie Shore, the Real Housewives of Cheshire, Love Island members and cast members of TOWIE.
Neon Jamon
Pulp Fiction star Samuel L Jackson visited Neon Jamon out of the blue a few years ago. It is believed he visited the bar while filming nearby, in Blackpool.
Later in a radio interview, the star gushed about how much he loves Liverpool, both the football team and the city. It's very possible that Samuel has many other favourite restaurant and bars that he is keeping to himself.
After opening in 2013, the tapas restaurant closed in 2020. However it has now reopened on Smithdown Place.
San Carlo
San Carlo is an Italian restaurant on Castle Street that is on of the city's top celebrity haunts. It's a particular favourite with footballers.
In the restaurant you could find pictures of all the celebrities that have dined there over there years, including Lionel Richie, Samuel L Jackson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. On an average day you could see a WAG or local celebrity having their lunch, as Alex Gerrard, Hollyoaks stars and Jennifer Ellison have all been spotted there.
While when Abbey Clancy was in the city centre for a signing event for her debut novel, she went on to San Carlo to enjoy a night out with pals afterwards. Comedian John Bishop also went there with mates before the match.
