Dublin actor Barry Keoghan has reportedly exited talks to feature in the sequel to the Oscar-winning smash hit Gladiator.
Deadline have reported that Barry was forced to leave talks to feature in the movie due to scheduling conflicts. It has also been reported that Maynooth superstar Paul Mescal will play Lucius, the supposed lead character in the sequel.
Barry was reportedly in talks to play Emperor Geta in the long-awaited sequel. Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and Connie Nielson are said to feature in the star-studded film.

Lucius's (Paul Mescal) mother will be played by Connie Neilson, who played her in the original iteration of the film. It has also been reported that Derek Jacobi will reprise his role as Gracchus.
Meanwhile May Calamawy, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah and Matt Lucas are also rumoured cast members.
