Barry Ferguson has offered an honest assessment of Alfredo Morelos' time at Rangers.
Michael Beale has confirmed the Colombian hitman will depart the Light Blues this summer with his contract coming to the end. He's had many ups and downs across his time at Ibrox. This season has been one to forget but the striker will leave with a number of high and memorable moments.
The legendary skipper reckons the best way to sum up his time in Glasgow is 'good but could have done better' as a new era gets set to begin at Ibrox. Morelos is Rangers' all-time European top goalscorer and has netted well over 100 goals in Glasgow. Those numbers make for excellent reading at the cost of £1million but in a few years time Fergie is in no doubt the 26-year-old will look back on his time in Govan with regret and thinking he could have done even better.

He told Go Radio: "For £1million, I think he's been good but could have done better. That's my honest opinion. I've always liked Morelos.
"See when he was on it, he was fit and his attitude was spot on, he was a real handful. This season? He's been disappointing, no doubt about it.
"I think the best way to do it is, shake his hand and part ways. But he'll look back in two or three years and think to himself: 'I could have done better at Rangers'. No doubt in my mind about it.
"It's the end of an era for some of these players. It happens in football. This is now the start of the major surgery when the likes of Kent and Morelos and others aren't going to be offered new contracts.
"It's part and parcel of football. Rangers need to build and make sure they are at it next season, because if they're not, Celtic are going to win a third title in a row.
"The manager has got the bit between his teeth, I'm sure the new chairman has got the bit between his teeth. They need to go on and try to back him as much as possible. Make sure they get into the Champions League and make sure they start winning trophies again."
