Barron Trump Swaps New York Dating Gossip for a Start-up Push as He Settles Into White House Life Aged 20

President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron, has traded New York dating gossip for a business push after moving into the White House during his sophomore year at New York University, while building ventures in drinks and crypto after an earlier property venture dissolved.

The shift re-frames a young man who has largely remained out of public view. For months, the story around Barron was rumours of a mystery girlfriend first reported in May 2025. That chatter has faded, and what replaced it is a far more revealing picture of a 20-year-old positioning himself as an entrepreneur rather than a tabloid figure.

Why the Romance Story Faded

A social source told People that dating is not 'a big deal in his life right now', pointing instead to school, family, and 'a career of his own he is launching'. The same source said Barron spent much of the 2025 summer in meetings with partners, developing projects and setting up deals.

Barron spent his first year commuting from Trump Tower in Manhattan to NYU classes. For his sophomore year he transferred to the university's Washington, DC satellite campus, which takes up to 120 students and sits blocks from the White House, where he now lives with his parents. That put more than 200 miles (322 km) between him and the rumoured romance.

The Drinks Brand Behind the Headlines

The clearest sign of ambition is SOLLOS Yerba Mate. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings dated 23 January 2026 list Barron as one of five directors of the Palm Beach company, which raised $1 million (£744,000) through a private placement before selling a single can.

The brand launched its first product in June 2026, a Pineapple and Coconut 12-pack priced at $39 (£29), sold online and in some Florida stores, with the company presenting the drink as a Florida-inspired product aimed at a younger consumer market.

He co-founded the firm with four friends aged 19 to 23, two of them former classmates from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach. His co-founder Stephen Hall said he was delaying his return to the University of Notre Dame to focus on the brand.

A Portfolio Taking Shape

Drinks are not the whole picture. Barron co-founded the cryptocurrency platform World Liberty Financial alongside his brothers Donald Jr. and Eric, with his crypto investments helping drive his estimated net worth to around $150 million (£112 million) by late 2025, according to Forbes.

An earlier property venture, Trump, Fulcher and Roxburgh Capital Inc., will not be relaunched, a business partner confirmed, ending speculation about a return to real estate.

What Comes Next for Barron

Ethics specialists have questioned whether businesses tied to the Trump family can avoid concerns about selling access to the president, and the SOLLOS registered address near Mar-a-Lago has drawn scrutiny.

Barron has not commented publicly on any of it. He has made several public appearances since the inauguration, including the February 2026 State of the Union and a June 2026 White House UFC event, while corporate filings have provided a clearer view of his business activity.

Barron was once described as an 'oddity on campus' and is building something with his own name attached to it.
