Bargain £80,000 house goes viral after pictures inside show its criminal past

A bargain house listing has gone viral after the interior pictures left many believing it had been used as a cannabis farm.

The former owners of the two-bed terraced home in Wigan, Gtr Manchester, had neglected to do any cleaning before it was listed on Rightmove for auction, starting at £80,000.

Snaps inside show the floor covered with green plants, bags full of dirt or soil, gardening equipment, several fans and a garden hose hooked up to the bathroom sink.

Taking the listing to Twitter, parody account @StateOfSelling wrote: "Bargain house to buy, needs some TLC to become a great family home."

Followers erupted with hilarious responses such as "THC more like!" and "Always wanted to live on a farm" as they took a pop at the shocking photos.

Plants and green debris was shown all over the floor, while ventilation system was fitted to the walls (@StateOfSelling/Twitter)

The interior images have since been removed from the listing, but not before the tweet racked up thousands of likes.

One user wrote: "Gardens not too bad either, just a few weeds to pull up."

While another joked: "Weed need to think about this but looks like a good investment".

But there were some people who took the listing more seriously.

One man said: "Would need about 15k work to this, plus it’s leasehold. We would wanna freehold if we’re wanting a house."

Another wrote: "A typical renovation. I’ve renovated a lot worse!"

The property is still available to buy through Purplebricks, but as stated on Rightmove's website, it's "In Need Of Refurbishment".

The listing reads: "The Property situated off Manchester Road and just off Belle Green Lane within close proximity of all local amenities lies this two Bedroom Palisade Fronted Terrace Property.

"This property is in need of full modernisation throughout and viewings are advised."
