Barcelona are reportedly finalising a lucrative proposal in a bid to pip Manchester City to a deal for Erling Haaland - with the Spanish giants set to make the Norwegian hotshot the focal point of their ambitious rebuilding project.
A host of top European clubs, including Barca's rivals Real Madrid, are vying to snap up the Borussia Dortmund star in the summer.
The 21-year-old has plundered 23 goals in just 20 games this term to underline why he is one of the most coveted players in the world.
Haaland is likely to have a raft of top-level suitors to choose from in the summer when a reported £67million release clause in his deal kicks in.
And according to SPORT, Barcelona are putting together an extensive package to try and entice Haaland into spearheading Xavi Hernandez's new-look side at the Nou Camp.
Join the debate! Who do you think will win the race for Haaland in the summer? Let us know here.
The report outlines that Barca are willing to meet all the financial demands to bring Haaland to Spain; including the significant commission that is likely to be requested by his agent, Mino Raiola, and his father, Alf-Inge Haaland.
In addition to that, Barcelona are planning to make Haaland the focal point of their entire footballing operation; including their digital and marketing projects.
Barcelona are leaders in the social world, both in terms of followers and social interactions, which could prove beneficial in their bid to sign the Dortmund star.
The club are also set to play on Haaland's dream to win the Ballon d'Or - with Barca set to highlight how playing for Barcelona has become synonymous with winning the coveted prize that has been claimed by the likes of Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo over the years.
Haaland is also set to be offered a bumper five-year deal which would see him become the club's highest earner with an enormous £16.6m salary.
However, it remains to be seen if Barcelona's extensive package will be enough to beat off competition from teams elsewhere.
Manchester City and Real Madrid have also been tipped to table lucrative offers to Haaland at the end of the season.
City are in the market to finally fill the void left by their all-time leading scorer Sergio Aguero, who left the club last summer.
Meanwhile, Real are plotting an ambitious bid to pair Haaland up with Kylian Mbappe, who is reportedly on his way to the Bernabeu in the summer once his deal with Paris Saint-Germain has expired.
It had been anticipated that Barcelona's recent financial issues would hamper their chances of striking a deal for Haaland - with reports suggesting that could pave the way for Real to win the race for the goalscoring prodigy.
That was also the verdict of La Liga president Javier Tebas, who tipped Real to clinch deals for both Haaland and Mbappe earlier this week.
“Madrid will get Mbappe and [Erling] Haaland as the others [Barcelona and Juventus ] are half [financially] ruined,” he said.
“That Mbappe comes is great news for LaLiga. It would be a joy for LaLiga. It's the best thing that could happen to LaLiga.”
But Barcelona are recovering economically - and proving that to Haaland is part of their extensive plan to lure him to Catalonia.
