'That's clear' - Barcelona break silence over Mohamed Salah transfer amid Liverpool rumours
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has claimed it is 'clear' that players such as Mohamed Salah want to join the Spanish giants.
Salah’s future has been discussed at length in recent weeks with the 29-year-old yet to agree to a new deal with the Reds. When asked about the contract negotiations earlier this month, Jurgen Klopp said that Liverpool 'cannot do much more' except wait for the forward's final decision.
Salah has been in fine form for Liverpool this season, scoring 27 times in 33 appearances in all competitions for Klopp's side. 11 Liverpool players could face dilemma Jurgen Klopp warned about next season
Jurgen Klopp has never been shy to voice his displeasure at the strain put on his players by an ever-growing football schedule, with 2022 set to be the toughest year for his squad yet. With Liverpool chasing an unprecedented quadruple, they’ll face a shorter summer break this summer due to next year’s Premier League campaign getting underway early on August 6 to accommodate the mid-season World Cup in Qatar.
Breaking up for the tournament on November 13, ahead of its start on November 21, the Reds will be back in domestic action on Boxing Day - just over a week after the World Cup final on December 18. And with the draw for the tournament taking place on Friday, the German will already have a rough idea of which of his players will have international commitments in the Middle East come winter.
With 32 nations set to compete at this year’s World Cup, 20 countries have already secured their place in Qatar as we come to the end of the final rounds of qualification and play-offs during the March international break. However, the final UEFA play-off will take place in June while two inter-confederation play-offs are also scheduled for the summer.

What Diogo Jota does not do for Liverpool explains Jurgen Klopp change
Top of the Premier League scoring charts this season with 20 goals from 27 appearances, Mohamed Salah is slowly closing in on another Golden Boot. The Liverpool forward is currently seven goals clear of team-mate Diogo Jota and Son Heung-Min and, having previously won the accolade in 2017/18 and 2018/19, and looks set to make it a hat-trick with nine games left to play.
Yet it might not be the only end of season prize the Egyptian could get his hands on come May, with the 29-year-old also in the running for the Premier League Playmaker award. The Reds star currently lies second in the creator charts with 10 assists, despite only creating one goal since early-December.
Level with team-mate Andy Robertson in the rankings, only fellow colleague Trent Alexander-Arnold lies ahead of him, with the England international, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, creating 11 league goals so far this season. Launched in 2017/18, Harry Kane is the current holder of the Playmaker award after completing a goalscorer and creator double last season, with Salah now hoping to follow in the Tottenham striker’s footsteps.
