The highly-anticipated Barbie movie has got everyone talking, but some people were left divided as they realised Margot Robbie wasn't always the first choice for the lead role.
In the film's early days, comedian Amy Schumer was announced as co-writer and star of the show.
However, just three months later in March 2017, the 41-year-old revealed she had to leave the project due to "scheduling conflicts".
Amy later admitted that this wasn't entirely true and she had decided to quit filming as a result of creative differences with Sony Pictures.
She said she realised they had "the wrong gal" for the role after wanting to take the film in a different direction.
"The studio definitely didn’t want to do it the way I wanted to do it. The only way I was interested in doing it," she told the Hollywood Reporter last year.
At the time, Amy's script was described as "a fish-out-of-water tale about a woman who gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough."
Her vision was for Barbie to be an inventor, but she was underwhelmed when the film studio suggested Barbie could create a pair of heels made out of Jell-O.
She was also left unimpressed when the studio gifted her a pair of Manolo Blahniks to celebrate her taking on the role.
"The idea that that's just what every woman must want, right there, I should have gone, 'You’ve got the wrong gal'." she recalled.
Following the latest cast announcement, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on what it would have been like if Amy had taken on the leading role.
"Real question how was amy schumer supposed to be this where was the vision," one Margot fan wrote.
Another agreed: "Absolutely no one else could’ve been casted as barbie (and ken) i don’t wanna hear that amy schumer nonsense anymore."
A third shocked fan tweeted: "I still cant believe the plan for this movie was to put Amy Schumer as the lead."
However, others defended Amy as Barbie, with one fan writing: "It was a different movie then - different studio, different script, director, writers, whole different plot.
One disappointed person tweeted: "It would have been hilarious, she's hilarious." A third fan agreed: "We wanted queen amy schumer to do it."
