The Banshees of Inisherin stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson missed the Critics’ Choice Awards last night after testing positive for Covid-19.
The hit film, shot off the Galway coast, was in contention for nine gongs at the ceremony which took place at 3am Irish time in Los Angeles. Dubliner Colin, 46, was nominated in the best actor category while Brendan, 67, was up against co-star Barry Keoghan, 30, for best supporting actor at the ceremony.
But Entertainment trade publication The Hollywood Reporter says it received confirmation that Farrell and Gleeson had been hit with coronavirus. .The film is a top contender for best picture and Kerry Condon, 40, was in the race for best supporting actress.

The movie’s writer-director Martin McDonagh was nominated for best screenplay and best director while his cast earned a nod for best acting ensemble. Colin was recognised for his performance in The Banshees Of Inisherin by picking up an accolade at the Golden Globe awards earlier this week.
The CCA, the second major ceremony of the awards season, is the most accurate predictor of Academy Award nominations. Sci-fi thriller Everything Everywhere All At Once leads the film contenders at the awards, having earned 14 nominations.
It was also previously announced that actor Jeff Bridges will receive the Critics Choice lifetime achievement award.
