Banned items for Splendour 2022 includes weapons and fisherman's umbrellas

The annual Splendour music festival returns on July 23 and 34 for its first two day event packed full of music and entertainment. It attracts people from all over the city and region to head to Wollaton Park for a day of live performances.

This year's event sees 90s Britpop legend and The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft headline the festival on Saturday and pop singer Anne-Marie headlining the Sunday. Other performances across the weekend come from Supergrass, Craig David, The Human League and Razorlight.

For those heading for a weekend of music in the sun, a list of prohibitions have been posted on Splendour's website. It outlines what cannot be taken into the festival site.

No alcohol or glass bottles can be taken into the festival. Water and non-alcoholic drinks can be taken in but they have to be in a maximum 1 litre plastic bottle with an unbroken seal.

Soft drink cans are not allowed and neither are pets, only special assistance animals. Cycling and bikes are not permitted and camping is not allowed anywhere in the park.

Festival goers cannot take BBQs or fires anywhere on the site and are not allowed to bring gazebos, pop up tents, fisherman's umbrellas or any item that is deemed to cause an obstruction.

Chairs, blankets, cool boxes and pushchairs are allowed but only in designated areas. The unauthorised use of professional photography or recording equipment is banned and may be confiscated if brought onto the site.

No illegal substances or anything that could be deemed an offensive weapon is to be brought into the festival. If there is a refusal to comply, it would result in prosecution and ejection from the site.

Music fans cannot crowd surf or mosh and all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Trading is not allowed without prior consent and smoking or drinking alcohol is not permitted in children's areas.
