Banned BMW driver's 'foolish decision' landed him in a whole lot of trouble

A banned driver who was under the influence of drugs led police on a high-speed chase in his BMW before losing control and spinning onto a grass verge.

Aqib Nawaz, 25, failed to stop for officers in Preston Old Road, Blackburn, shortly after midnight on June 26, 2022. Speeding at 20mph over the 30mph limit, he drove straight across a mini roundabout and eventually crashing.

Officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis when approaching the car, and samples taken proved he had cannabis and cocaine in his system Paul Cummings told Preston Crown Court, reports LancsLive.
