Banksy appears to have unveiled a new artwork in central London overnight. A large resin statue showed up on a plinth in Waterloo Place early Wednesday, close to statues of Florence Nightingale and Edward VII and near several major government buildings and embassies. There was no public notice or permission and by morning the piece was already drawing attention.
According to the BBC, the statue shows a suited man stepping forward off a plinth with a flag covering his face. He looks confident, but he cannot see where he is going. The message is direct and appears intended to be taken that way.
